Deveron Canoe Club members recently enjoyed the thrills and spills of surf-kayaking at some of the far North of Scotland’s finest surfing beaches.

SIX members of the Deveron Canoe club recently spent a weekend in the far North of Scotland enjoying the exciting surf-kayaking discipline at beaches near Thurso, where the Pentland Firth produces reliable surf conditions.

A Deveron Canoe club member plunges down a 22ft waterfall on the River Etive.

DEVERON Canoe Club headed for the West of Scotland recently on their annual rivers weekend, which saw them tackling expeditions on the excit- ing and challenging Orchy and Etive rivers in the Glencoe area.

Nine experienced and intrepid paddlers –Ian Clark, Sandy Reid, Michael Reid, Jack Reid, Louise Barclay, Duncan Barclay, Gary Thain, Tony Janetta and Alan Meikle – spent two days on the water with an overnight stay in Kinlochleven.
