About The Club

Deveron Canoe Club was formed in 2007 by paddlers in the Banff area of Aberdeenshire. We are a new club, and our members are interested in sea kayaking, kayak surfing, canoe polo, and river paddling in both kayaks and open canoes.
We use Banff Swimming Pool in the autumn and winter to train indoors on Thursday evenings, but in the summer, we run local outdoor trips every Thursday evening. Longer trips are run at weekends, mainly on Sundays.
Banff has some great paddling trips – The River Deveron is a beautiful river, with enough challenge for the novice. There is a varied coastline with big cliffs, caves, marine wildlife and great beaches for a picnic. Some of the beaches have excellent surf, when the conditions are right. The Rivers Don, Dee, Spey and Findhorn, are within easy driving distance for weekend trips on moderate whitewater.
Our membership covers a wide range of ages and abilities, and we have a fleet of club kayaks and canoes, to help get you started.
